Port Authority
Cincinnati, OH

Working to increase home ownership and affordable housing stock in existing transitional communities, the Port Authority of Cincinnati, Ohio gains ownership of dilapidated properties. They work with grants and local neighborhood groups and investors to renovate these properties into modern, healthy, livable homes. Our approach to these projects has been to improve the layouts of these existing properties to meet the needs of today's families and ensure that the project remains at a price point where both the developer and the community can afford it.

Colerain Township Residence

This was an efficient, 900 sf, post-WWII ranch home in Colerain Township that needed some updating inside and out. We added a front porch with exposed framing to modernize the exterior and shield the entry from weather. On the interior, we switched the location of the existing kitchen and one bedroom to allow for an open concept living area, and create a larger primary bedroom. We also were able to add in a sizeable pantry and a laundry closet that weren't in the original layout.

Price Hill Residence

The Price Hill property is a larger house that had been divided up into several apartments and abandoned over time. Our task was to reconfigure the space back into one home, complete with a primary suite and two additional bedrooms, a first floor powder room, and an open living space.
